WTGS Fall Symposium, September 2021
Welcome to the follow-up of the WTGS Fall Symposium. This is an event that we will be at every year! The top geoscientists and engineers working in the Permian Basin show up to discuss the latest technology and discoveries happening around the basin. This year did not disappoint!
A new play breaking out from the central basin platform as operators are going deeper and horizontal on the platform and it’s giving up some great results! We saw recent masters graduate Zef Szypulski work out challenging structural questions across the Midland Basin in regards to deep-seated faults and their influence on production. The geology of Kerogen has popped into play and Paritosh Bhatnagar with Ikon Science has developed ways to view high productive landing targets with seismic software like never before!! There’s so much happening in the Permian Basin, it’s where energy is born. Register for the event to see all the recordings of each technical talk.
The last couple of years have been an adventure for every single person on the planet, well, that is even more so for the people involved in the oil and gas industry! The vibe in Midland this year was LIGHTS OUT!!! We had the opportunity to sit down with the Mayor of Midland Texas, Patrick Payton who was sworn into the position in January of 2020… This interview highlights what it takes to respond to events that are outside of our control, and specifically how we can do a much better job handling ourselves in the future. He is marching to Wall Street to empower the politicians around the country with information to help us all through these challenging times. We’re thankful and lucky to have Mayor Payton on the clock.
A special thanks to Fairfield Geotechnologies and to the entire WTGS volunteering staff from this year’s WTGS Fall Symposium. The community is excited, motivated, and confident to take care of our energy demand around the world, cheers to sleeping well because of the amazing folks working in the Permian Basin!
Midland Live, May 5th 2021
Let’s be honest, the performance from Hadlie Jo really stole the whole show!! What an incredible talent, a star is rising out of West Texas and it was an honor to be there with her and the rest of the folks in attendance that night.
The sponsors and supporters from our first live in-person show of 2021 were incredibly important to us. BRT Energy Advisors with the diamond sponsor that made the whole event possible, we really appreciated working with you setting up for this, and again, to Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bertagne, happy anniversary!! We look forward to many more with Rogers Ford, Entoro Capital, Bear Claw, and Cimmaron Energy.
For this show, we had to bring in what we believe is the next revolution in the fracking era of unconventional reservoir exploration. We have drilled over 25,000 horizontal wells in the Permian Basin since circa 2007 and the way we break rocks has never really changed, until now! But wait, there’s more!!! At the same time, we found the patent holders to the revolutionary concepts that KinFrac brings to the industry, we have had major geologic breakthroughs as well. It’s not about breaking rocks and keeping them open, it’s about creating new surface area and promoting the geochemistry needed to hydrogenate the kerogen in the reservoir and make as much oil as possible as fast as possible!
This technology mixed with the smartest people in the world will change the future of the oil and gas business forever, we will drill fewer wells and perform way better. The energy transformation is impossible without hydrocarbon energy for many more years to come, the best thing we can do is limit the amount of energy that goes into extracting the hydrocarbons, while still making enough of the energy our world demands.
We are dedicated to following this story and help developing it, reach out if you are interested in investing in the technology that plans to revolutionize our industry!
Planetary Study of Mars, September 29th 2020
What are we learning from Mars? Well, a lot more about our own planet than we thought. We invaded the red planet with envious eyes and projecting sedimentary Earth processes to everything we saw, it wasn’t until we looked at the chemical makeup of Mars with MagmaChem Research Institute that it became a real discovery. Mars is a snapshot of a rock planet that went dormant circa 3.5 billion years ago, when the dynamo of the red planet turned off, so did all the chances of making life. From the vast amount of data that the curiosity rover has sent back to our planet, we have come up with the most important bullet points regarding the discoveries being made by humans in the universe.
Kerogen Found on Mars (New Oil Generation Paradigm)
Mud Volcanism is a significant component of Martian geology
Mars is now a Dead Rock (No Magnetic Dynamo)
“Pesky” Perchlorate Problem (No Life Masking geologic processes)
